A 28-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a 2025 Toyota Corolla on Sunday evening. She crossed the center line on Wadsworth Road in Montville Township and struck another car. The crash took place shortly after 5 p.m. on August 2 in the 7600 block of State Route 57.
The other vehicle was a 2023 Ford Escape driven by Marguerite Charvat, 60, of Medina. Both drivers wore seatbelts when the cars collided.

Marguerite was rushed to Medina Hospital. Her injuries proved too severe. She died later that night.
The 28-year-old woman from the Toyota was also taken to Medina Hospital. She had only minor injuries.
Investigators have not said what caused her car to leave its lane. The probe continues.
The young driver’s survival stands in sharp contrast to the outcome for the other driver. Local officers are piecing together the final moments before impact.
For now the focus stays on the facts of the road and the two cars that met there.
