The coroner in Lancaster County confirmed the 16-year-old died Sunday night after tumbling about 8 to 12 feet through a hay hole in his family’s barn on Sunday. He hit his head hard enough to need emergency care right away. Medical teams at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital fought to save him, but he passed away at 8:42 p.m. The death was ruled accidental.
Jonas grew up on the farm in Colerain Township, right in the heart of Lancaster County’s rich farming country.
