Rylie-Shea Muhlbauer was 27 years old and lived in Manning. On Sunday morning she was found dead inside a house on East Shore Drive in Lake View.
A 911 call came in at about 10:27 a.m. on August 2. The Sac County Emergency Communication Center got the report of a shooting at that address.
Officers and emergency medical crews got there fast. They found the young woman already gone.
Joshua Lehman, also 27 and from Shenandoah, was taken into custody right away. He faces a charge of murder in the first degree. That is a Class A felony in Iowa.
The Lake View Police Department is handling the case with help from the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, the Sac County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
No one is saying much else about what happened inside the house that morning. The probe is still open.
A charge is only an accusation. Lehman is presumed innocent until a court says otherwise.
