Sunday mornings are usually pretty chill around Pleasant Hill. But this past weekend started off with an absolute gut-punch that has left a tight-knit community reeling.
Down on Pheasant Lane near Wheeler Road, things took a tragic turn that nobody could have seen coming. It was roughly 5:15 in the morning when emergency dispatchers got that dreaded call.
Deputies and fire crews rushed out to the scene only to find a badly wrecked vehicle. Lying outside the car were two people who desperately needed a miracle.
Nineteen-year-old Adison Bernice Stading was right there, having made the trip down from her home in Woodland, Washington. She was someone who brought a whole lot of love and joy to everyone lucky enough to cross her path.
First responders pulled out all the stops to try and save her. Even a Life Flight chopper was called in to rush medical help right where it was needed.
Sadly, Adison’s injuries were just too severe, and she didn’t make it. It is the kind of sudden, gut-wrenching loss that leaves family and friends completely numb and searching for answers.
While the exact cause of this mess is still being looked into by crash investigators, the real focus right now isn’t on the wreckage. It is about remembering a wonderful 19-year-old whose smile and kind heart left a mark that time won’t easily erase.
