A minor under 16 left an Embassy Suites room in Hapeville with a story that brought police. Sidney Starr, the reality personality from Love and Hip Hop New York and Wild N Out, was arrested Sunday. Booking records list sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy.
Authorities say Starr confessed to oral sex with the child at that hotel. Hapeville officers made the arrest. Starr was taken to Fulton County Jail. The case now sits with district prosecutors.
Starr first drew notice years ago with a claimed relationship to rapper Chingy. Those claims proved false. Chingy said the story damaged his career. Starr later apologized.
The hotel sits near Hartsfield-Jackson airport in a small city south of Atlanta. Police released almost nothing beyond the charges. They cited the need to shield the young person involved.
No further charges have been announced. No court schedule is public. Investigators continue their work.
The child at the center of the case has not been identified. Family members have stayed silent. Officials keep the rest of the file closed for now.
Starr remains in custody as the matter moves forward.
