Marcus Miller was just 26 when his ride ended on a quiet Sunday morning. He lived in Sugarcreek and rode a black 2011 Kawasaki EX250. At about 10:37 a.m. he headed west on State Route 39 in Sugarcreek Township.
Martha Egan, 84, of Dover, drove a red 2016 Mazda CX-5 eastbound. She started a left turn onto County Road 77, also called Prysi Road. Her car crossed the westbound lane. Miller’s motorcycle hit the right side of the Mazda.
The crash threw the bike and Miller across the center line. He then slammed into the left front of a white 2023 Nissan Rogue. Tiffany Ervin, 49, of Coshocton, drove that car eastbound. The second hit made everything worse.
Troopers from the New Philadelphia Post got there fast. Emergency crews tried hard. Miller died right at the scene. He had worn a helmet and full protective gear. The other two drivers walked away. Egan had her seatbelt on. Ervin was fine too.
Traffic backed up on State Route 39 for hours. Crews cleaned up and pieced the crash together. The Ohio State Highway Patrol still looks into what happened. No one has said if charges will come.
Miller’s family and friends in Sugarcreek feel the loss deep. A young guy gone too soon. People who drive need to watch close at turns. Motorcycles do not give much protection when things go wrong.
