Heading southbound through the 11000 block, everything seemed peaceful until his motorcycle reached the intersection near Duffel Lane.
That stretch of road features a sharp left-hand curve that requires careful handling. As Robert approached the bend, his motorcycle failed to make the turn. In a split second, the Harley drifted off the right side of the roadway, hitting a concrete culvert before slamming directly into a metal gate outside a local business. The violent impact threw Robert clear off the bike.
Emergency dispatchers received urgent calls around 6:42 p.m., and Boone County Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the scene alongside first responders. When medical crews arrived, they worked frantically to treat Robert’s severe injuries.
