37-year-old Pulaski man was killed in a shooting Saturday, and authorities have arrested a suspect who is now facing multiple felony charges, according to the Pulaski Police Department.
On July 25, 2026, officers with the Pulaski Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Culpepper Street in Pulaski following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders with Giles EMS arrived at the scene and immediately began lifesaving efforts. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Jeremy D’Juan Gardner, 37, of Pulaski.
Following the shooting, the Pulaski Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the scene and begin the investigation into Gardner’s death.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Cory Dwain Perry, 40, of Pulaski. Perry has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Armed Dangerous Felonies.
Perry was booked into the Giles County Jail, where he is being held without bond. Officials said additional charges and arrests may be possible as the investigation continues.
The case is being led by Detective Sergeant Keith Crabtree of the Pulaski Police Department. Investigators continue to gather evidence and work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
The Pulaski Police Department thanked the Giles County Sheriff’s Department and Giles County EMS for their assistance during the response and investigation.
The death of Jeremy D’Juan Gardner has left family, friends, and members of the Pulaski community mourning the loss of a life taken by violence. The investigation remains active as authorities continue seeking answers.
