An ongoing investigation is underway in Kansas City after a domestic argument inside an Agnes Avenue residence took a fatal turn early Saturday morning. Detectives are actively pursuing a suspect who fled the scene right after opening fire, leaving one woman dead inside the home.

The victim in the deadly incident was identified by loved ones as Nevada Mosley. According to law enforcement officers, Nevada and the suspect were acquainted with each other before the confrontation took place inside the home located in the 5600 block of Agnes Avenue.

Kansas City police officers responded to the residence around 7:00 a.m. following urgent reports of gunfire inside the building. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Nevada critically wounded from the shooting. The shooter was already long gone, having bolted from the residence immediately after the weapon was discharged.

First responders immediately called for medical backup and transported Nevada to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the rapid response from doctors and medical staff, her injuries proved fatal, and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators on the scene quickly determined that the incident stemmed from an argument inside the residence that spiraled out of control. Rather than walking away, the suspect drew a gun and fired, inflicting the fatal injuries on Nevada before making a quick getaway.

Kansas City police have chosen not to release a public physical description of the suspect at this time. However, detectives made it clear that they already know the suspect’s identity. Authorities voiced high confidence that law enforcement will locate and apprehend the individual responsible in short order.
